Marsha brings over two decades of experience counseling clients on land use, litigation and transactional matters.

Marsha’s practice spans processing land use/zoning applications, litigating cases before trial and appellate courts, and handling complex real estate and business disputes and transactions. Marsha also frequently conducts zoning and environmental due diligence on behalf of private developers and financial institutions evaluating properties. She has the experience not only to identify potential challenges and risks associated with an emerging project, but also to creatively unlock solutions and unforeseen opportunities. As a litigator, Marsha has prevailed in lawsuits and arbitrations involving Article 78 administrative challenges, SEQRA, adverse possession, breach of contract, tort and general commercial matters.

Marsha drafts and negotiates a wide range of contractual and land transaction documents. She brings an eye for detail and technical expertise to construction agreements, easements, development contracts, licenses, commercial leases, declarations and IDA transactional agreements.

Prior to joining Zarin & Steinmetz, Marsha was a litigation associate in the law firm of Kaye Scholer LLP and an Assistant Attorney General with the New York State Department of Law (Litigation Bureau). She received her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 1986, where she served as a Notes and Comments Editor of the Arts and Entertainment Law Journal. She also received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, magna cum laude, from Brooklyn College of the City University of New York in 1983.
