By Decision and Order, dated August 24, 2018, the Honorable Joan Lefkowitz dismissed two consolidated challenges to approvals issued by the White Plains Common Council for the French-American School of New York (FASNY). The lawsuits challenged FASNY’s approved plans to construct a new 640-student school at the site of the former Ridgeway Country Club. These lawsuits came after seven years of exhaustive review by the City of White Plains, and several other lawsuits against FASNY, which Zarin & Steinmetz also successfully defended.
Michael Zarin, Dan Richmond, and Kate Roberts were instrumental in helping FASNY obtain its approvals, and successfully defending FASNY’s approvals.
The cases are captioned Gedney Ass’n, et al v. Common Council of White Plains & FASNY, Index No. 3084/2017 and Jaffe, et al v. FASNY, Index No. 51577/2018 (Sup. Ct. Westchester Cnty., Envtl. Claims Pt. Aug. 24, 2018) (Lefkowitz, J.).
